The UW MEDICINE REVENUE INTEGRITY DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a MANAGER, REVENUE INTEGRITY. The Manager, Revenue Integrity is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Revenue Integrity Department, prioritizing and assigning work using a service desk management system, coaching and developing staff, and working with staff on complex issue resolution across entities.  The Manager will facilitate initiation and planning for assigned projects. Ensure completion of deliverables, as appropriate. Fulfill the roles of facilitator and task manager.

UW Medicine's Revenue Integrity Department is a shared services organization, which supports all of UW Medicine.  UW Medicine entities include but are not limited to UW Medical Center (UWMC), Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW School of Medicine, Northwest Hospital, UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC) and UW Physicians.

Under the general guidance of the Sr. Director of Revenue Integrity, the Manager is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing UW Medicine Denials & Write-Off mitigation project known as RevUP.  In addition, the Manager, Revenue Integrity  will coach, mentor and develop staff, identify policy and procedural gaps to ensure UW Medicine is effectively and compliantly capturing and billing all charges related to services provided.

UW Medicine is made up of a complex set of multi-disciplinary clinical, business, and administrative workflows across care settings.  The Manager of Revenue Integrity must gain an understanding of the overall organizational processes and the processes necessary for continuing process improvement.

This position exercises discretion, independent judgment and self-direction in the responsibilities called for.  It provides advice and counsel to the Director of Revenue Integrity, business owners, UW Medicine leadership, and other operational directors to successfully manage and deliver Revenue Integrity Improvements. 

The Manager of Revenue Integrity will work in partnership with clinical and non-clinical departments, ITS, and across UW entities and affiliates.  Working relationships must be established and productively maintained with operational department managers and senior leaders in key customer groups at UW Medicine.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The MANAGER, REVENUE INTEGRITY will:

Organize work required to accomplish UW Medicine goals and priorities

Develop plans, as appropriate, around specific work (e.g, training plan, test plan, communication plan)

Ensure that team objectives align with strategic vision of the organization

Work with Executive Leadership, Revenue Integrity Specialists, FACT, PFS, and IT Leaders to define, coordinate, and implement changes to Epic system and/or UW Medicine workflows to midigate denials/write-offs

Perform Problem Resolution with Revenue Integrity Specialists, Clinical Partners, and Consultants

Communicate issues, resolution steps, risks, and barriers, to ERC leadership, project team, and project sponsor(s), and stakeholders, as appropriate for escalation/resolution

Maintain issues tracking tools to manage operational issues to feed regular status reports

Lead RevUp Sustainability Meetings with Clinical Leadership at UWMC, HMC, NWH

Develop and maintain a service-oriented relationship with executive project sponsor(s), organization leadership, principal stakeholders, and project teams. Communications, relationship development and progress/status reporting

Provide regular status of current efforts, achieved milestones, and current risks and issues to Director

Facilitate regular team meetings and huddles with RIS staff

Prepare and present achievements and barriers to sponsors and/or senior leadership to drive decisions and clear barriers to project outcomes

Navigate interests of different stakeholder groups to deliver improved revenue integrity outcomes

Mentor Revenue Integrity Specialists on team responsibilities, goal setting, and performance



Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:  


•Bachelor's degree in a health-care oriented profession, that demonstrates analytical and leadership abilities in revenue integrity, health information management, or patient access environment 

•6-8 years' recent experience in healthcare finance/revenue cycle management/revenue integrity 

•6-8 years’ experience serving in a team leadership role hiring, coaching, mentoring staff 

•6-8 years’ experience effectively working with multiple, diverse stakeholders in a complex environment 

•Excellent time-management skills 

•Experience with MS Office tools: Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook 

 DESIRED:  


•Academic Healthcare experience 

•Familiarity with multiple Epic systems modules 

•Continuous Quality Improvement training and experience leading quality improvement teams
