As a Lynn employee, you will help us build a better world with our students. Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement. This is a full time position in the Hannifan Center for Career and Alumni Connections. The main purpose of the position is to mobilize alumni to support our mission, be it through volunteering, attending events, donating, etc. Finding alumni we don't know and engaging with them and finding ways we can plug alumni in with each other, the university and the students in an effort to engage them.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize both LinkedIn and CareerShift to find alumni
  • Meet with alumni one-on-one to develop relationship on behalf of the university – over 2,000 alumni were communicated with in 2019-2020
  • Maintain general knowledge of university mission, events, and programming and serve as main point of contact for all alumni contacting the university
  • Recruit alumni to attend alumni-focused and career-focused events through one-on-one communication
  • Administrative: manage email account, Lynn alumni general phone line
  • Manage alumni benefits: email reactivations and approvals, alumni card requests and distribution
  • Actively work to continuously receive updated alumni contact information
  • Data entry:
    • Into shared Google sheet and into Raisers Edge (engagement points and event registration/attendance)
    • Work with Development maintain and update records
    • Work with IT to request reports
  • Manage social media and marketing initiatives; hire, train, and manage interns
  • Social media: Alumni LinkedIn group, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
  • Marketing: Develop monthly alumni newsletter, alumni events onto, posters, signage, upcoming events sheets, process email bounce backs from alumni newsletter
  • Identify alumni in VIP status (those who: hold a position with an organization that could partner with the career center/university; with a C-Suite title; prospective donor, etc.)
  • Manage signature alumni events: Alumni Holiday Party, Alumni Weekend
  • Manage small-scale alumni events by creating websites, promoting, tracking registration, securing vendors or working with restaurants/venues, working registration table, developing post-event recaps (networking, happy hours, Chamber programs)
  • Project lead for fall send off, senior salute
  • Actively collaborate with departments/teams:
    • Lacrosse team – alumni lacrosse game in the fall semester
    • College of Arts & Sciences – Celebration of the Arts, Comfort Cases set up and packing, Quality Enhancement Plan
    • Fashion Program – participate in efforts to build rapport with students (transition to alumni)
    • Baseball and softball teams – baseball and softball alumni games
    • Athletics
    • IT – streamlining of email reactivation request process, determining non-grad alumni will not be offered this benefit
    • Office of Admission: recruit alumni ambassadors for receptions/webinars, work with non-grad alumni who wish to finish school, work with alumni whose family members are interested in applying
    • Registrar: reunite alumni with diplomas, transcript requests
    • Pine Tree Camps: verify alumni status of campers' parents who wish to secure discounted rate through alumni benefit program
  • Manage Distinguished Alumni Award nominations and selection
  • Manage and track annual departmental expenses
  • Maintain inventory of alumni giveaways and purchase when necessary
  • Annually produce alumni engagement metrics utilizing CASE standards

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
