The City of Round Rock Planning & Development Services Department has an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our dynamic team. This position is for a case manager role in our Engineering Division. Our team functions as a comprehensive development department that includes engineering, planning, and inspection oversight. Working together as a unified team allows our employees to learn all aspects of the development process from land-use planning, utility layout, to building and civil inspection. While this is very beneficial to the customers we serve, it also provides an excellent professional growth opportunity for our staff. Essential duties include: 

• Analyzes proposed engineering, transportation, and public infrastructure associated with private development; 
• Coordinating, attending, and managing project related meetings;
• Guiding applicants through the development review process; 
• Reviewing associated engineering studies such as floodplain, wastewater capacity, drainage, etc.; 
• Responding to technical projects inquires;
• Coordinating with engineers, surveyors, and contractors; 
• Meeting with internal and other departmental staff and consultants regularly to discuss issues, provide advice related to regulations, and identify potential problems and solutions; and 
• Participates in amending, interpreting, and implementing city ordinances and policies to improve and provide an adequate degree of safety in response to the changing market demands in design and construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or a closely related field.
• Four (4) years of engineering work experience post completion of Bachelor's degree.
• Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas or be able to obtain a license within twelve (12) months of hire.
